Before joining MTI as Director of Business and Legal Affairs in 2010, Deb Hartnett was Entertainment Counsel at a large New York City law firm, where she represented clients involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry, including theater, music, film, publishing and the Internet. Her theater clients included commercial and not-for-profit producers, playwrights, composers/lyricists, and designers. Deb also has significant experience in advising not-for-profit cultural and educational institutions with respect to intellectual property matters and taught theater law at the Columbia University School of the Arts. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked in various editorial positions in the sports department of the New York Post and the Staten Island Advance.
