Mean Girls, the brutally hilarious musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). ¿Can we present this musical with my friends?

¡Hi! My name is Trinidad Ried and I'm from Santiago, Chile. With 2 friends we started to produce amateur musical theater just for fun and because we are theater nerds haha. We want to produce Mean Girls with our university friends. The university let us use their theater and we were wondering if we could do this without license. It's non profit, just for fun and by amateur students!!

Rights Query

Hi! Our theater would really love to do Mean Girls as our spring production next year, but of course, I know that y’all can’t determine when rights will be available to amateur theaters right now. I was wondering if there is even any chance that Mean Girls will be available for licensing by the spring for youth/community theaters, or if it will most likely only be available for professional licensing once it is released. Also, if there is a chance it would be available to youth groups/community theaters, is there any way we could license our second choice and then “switch” to Mean Girls if the rights were to become available in time? That might be a stupid question, but i at least wanted to ask. Thank you so much in advance!

Rights

Hi! I see that the tour plans to resume soon, and I see that it will be running until at least March 2023. Is there a possibility that the rights may come out while the tour is still running, or will the rights have to come out after the tour has closed? Thank you so much!

MEAN GIRLS JR SUBMISSION

This is a bit of a crazy question but we thought it was worth asking. Is there anywhere we could submit a jr version of a musical (in this case MEAN GIRLS) that someone created a script for? One of our high school theater students created just as a fan and did a really good job. It reads just as an official jr version! We were wondering if there was a way we could submit it to MTI to take a look at. We know you probably wouldnt be interested in it but it was worth asking for the freshman who has such a passion for the arts and that is what broadway jr is about!

Broadway cancelation and licensing

Now that the Broadway show is closed and will not be returning of Mean Girls, any word on the licensing and also is there any though for a jr version? Or TYA? The tour is still in so idk if it makes a difference?

We're in unprecidented times now that liver performances are halted for the forseeable future. I noticed there was only a small selection of shows available for a concert performance and I think it would be really amazing if more became available for licensing.
