What accounts for the difference in cast size between Willy Wonka JR and TYA?

If they are both one act shows, what is the difference casting and plot-wise? It seems like a huge jump from 13 in the cast to 24 + ensemble.

Thank you for your question! Willy Wonka JR is meant to be performed by usually middle school students/campers, etc., whereas TYA is tailored to be performed by adults FOR young audiences. The JR version has a larger cast size to accomodate schools, camps, and other programs with a large number of participants - guaranteeing roles for everyone.
The plot is essentially the same. The score for the JR version has been adjusted to accomodate the vocal range of young performers.
