What is a good and affordable way to create Shreks head? I am willing to buy the $200 head piece but I can't do all of the other ones...

An affordable and kid friendly way to create Shrek is to not use a mask. He needs a large physique, green skin and small ears which can be made or purchased and attached to a headband under a hood. It is tempting to put Shrek in a full mask, but those of us that have worked on the adaptation recommend not to. Masks come with all kinds of challenges including safety, (can the actor breathe and see and sing and hear?), aloss of fcial expressions, and microphone interference. There are MANY creative and successful ways to show off your actor and create this wonderful character.
