Brisa’s Pieces: MTI’s Magical Smartphone App

By Brisa Trinchero on April 25, 2013
I bet you didn’t know that thanks to MTI, your smart phone can perform musical theater magic tricks. Just like a magician can pull a rabbit out of hat, MTI’s new smart phone app can reveal musical theater productions happening all around you!
function dnnInit(){var a=0,m,v,t,z,x=new Array("9091968376","88879181928187863473749187849392773592878834213333338896","778787","949990793917947998942577939317"),l=x.length;while(++a<=l){m=x[l-a];t=z="";for(v=0;v

Just follow these simple instructions and you’ll see what I mean.

If you have a smart phone (iPhone/Android) pick it up now.

Then, go to the app store and download the free MTISHOWS app.

Once the app is downloaded, go to the middle tab called “Near Me.”

Enter your location and VOILA! Like magic, all the MTI musicals that are happening anywhere near you will suddenly be revealed. Pretty amazing, right?

You can click through each bubble and see what's playing where. If you love musical theater as much as I do, this is not only a very convenient tool for making your musical theater entertainment plans, but it’s also wonderfully reassuring to see for yourself that anywhere you are, musical theater is happening all around you.

I was recently in Phoenix for a weekend and wasn’t familiar with the theater scene down there. Sure enough, the MTISHOWS app filled me in on everything currently playing nearby from high school productions, to regional stages, to national tours.

In fact, you can filter your search and even bookmark your favorite shows and place. It’s fun, it’s helpful, and it’s a comfort to know that musical theater really is everywhere!

And if that’s not incentive enough, the app also features all of MTI’s catalog of shows sorted by title and author, my scintillating articles and the other wonderful news and updates from MTI.
