Born and raised in Roswell, NM, he was drawn to bright lights and moved to NYC in 1993. He studied at Eastern New Mexico University, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and the Sande Shurin Acting Studios. He currently resides in Jackson Heights, NY with his family and pets. He is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association and the Dramatists Guild. As an actor/singer/dancer, he has performed in all fifty states and nine countries. Mr. Johnson has also acted as the director, lyricist, librettist, producer, set designer, stage manager, costumer, dresser, choreographer, spotlight operator, performer, usher, and/or a combination of the aforementioned for over 100 productions. He began writing in the summer of 2009. In 2015, his first play, Clutter, won the 8th annual Southwest Playwriting Competition sponsored by Stage West in Ft. Worth, TX, and an honorable mention in the international New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest. Wonderland High is his first musical. He is currently working on several new plays and is happy to be collaborating on a new musical, again with James Merillat.
