John Jung is a music teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools for students in kindergarten through sixth grade and also serves as the curriculum council chair for the fine arts for the entire district. He has taught strings, band, steel drum, and general music at all levels of learning as well as arts appreciation and public speaking at the high school level. He earned his bachelor of arts in music education from Mount Saint Joseph University, his Master of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Liberty University and is currently working on his Educational Doctorate. John and his wife Kristie have directed over twenty-five middle school productions throughout the Cincinnati area. He has studied theatre in New York City with iTheatrics and the Broadway Teachers Group, was awarded honors in technical theatre and choreography at the Junior Theatre Festival, and was awarded the “Freddie G” Director’s award of excellence, which included an intensive weekend of study with Broadway professionals, through Music Theatre International. John continues to play percussion professionally on occasion for local musical theatre productions at several venues, including local high schools.
