Christy Brandt is originally from the Chicago area. She graduated with a theater degree from Kansas University in 1973 and has worked as a resident actress, director, and social director at the Creede Repertory Theatre for 30 years. She has performed over 100 roles at the Creede Theatre including Annie Sullivan in The MIRACLE WORKER, Blanche in STREETCAR, Nora in A DOLL'S HOUSE, Hedda in HEDDA GABLER, Billie Dawn in BORN YESTERDAY, Eliza in LOOK HOMEWARD ANGEL, Kate in ALL MY SONS, Frenchy in DESTRY RIDES AGAIN, Kate in DANCING AT LUGHNASA, Abby Brewster in ARSNIC AND OLD LACE, Bunny Flingus in HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES and Princess Winnifred in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. Christy co-directed YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU at CRT and directed YOU CAUGHT ME DANCING and MOUSTRAP.
She has performed at the Coterie Theater and the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City and The South Carolina Repertory Theatre. Christy appeared in Ang Lee s film RIDE WITH THE DEVIL and has done various other small film projects and commercials but her proudest achievement is the co-authorship of SIX WOMEN WITH BRAIN DEATH.
She now lives in Lawrence Kansas with her husband John Gary Brown.
