Eric Bragg has been an educator in Georgia since 2003. For 11 years, he served as a teacher with the Fulton County School System. During that time he founded the drama department at Creek View Elementary School. His efforts at Creek View were recognized with a Teacher of the Year nomination and NBC’s prestigious Class Act Award in 2006. Eric has been the award winning director of numerous films that were entered in the Georgia Movie Academy state film competition and was a National Finalist in Sony’s Technology in Motion film competition. In 2007, Eric transferred to River Trail Middle School to teach drama full time.
During his tenure as the drama teacher and director at RTMS, Eric directed numerous titles both at River Trail and with The Red Phoenix Theatre Company. Some of these credits include: Les Miserables, Into the Woods Jr., Flowers for Algernon, Sweeney Todd, Seussical Jr., Once on this Island Jr., In the Heights, and The Lion King Jr. He was also nominated for Teacher of the Year again in 2012. In January of 2013, Eric received the Freddie G Experience award from Music Theatre International for his work as a director with youth. In 2015, Eric was asked to direct Disney's Beauty and the Beast at Providence Christian Academy, and in the fall of that year was asked to come on staff at Providence as the Fine Arts Director full time. In 2015-16, Providence's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid was nominated for two Shuler Hensley Awards and two honorable mentions. Eric was nominated for Scenic Design and was an honorable mention for Best Director that year. In 2016-17, Steel Magnolias was runner up at Area One Act competition. Also that year, the cast of Mary Poppins received 3 Shuler Hensley Award nominations, a win for Best Costumes, and an honorable mention.
