I have been passionate about the performing arts from the moment I got my tiny toddler hands on a Fisher Price Piano and a Mr. Microphone! I have had the good fortune to have actively worked in theatre, film, and television for 35+ years. I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and own Courtney's Voice and Piano Studio in Archdale, NC. In 2015, I was honored with the "Arts Educator of the Year" award by the High Point Arts Council. I joined the Board of Directors for High Point Community Theatre in 2014 and became President in 2016. In 2017, I founded The Troupe, HPCT's award-winning Junior Theatre Festival team and I continue to serve as its Director and Music Director. During the 2021/22 school year, I was asked to launch the middle and high school drama program at Phoenix Academy in High Point. I met my husband, Matt, at Virginia Tech where I received a B.A. in Communication Studies. I am humbled and honored to be named a 2024 Freddie G. Fellow and look forward to a lifetime of comaraderie and growth as an arts educator with this outstanding group of people. In my spare time, I can be found directing and music directing local productions, as well as portraying all kinds of fun characters "on the boards". My greatest accomplishments, without a doubt, are my two boys, Dylan and Christian.
