Broadway Junior Project

Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior® Project provides schools that lack arts programming with the FREE training and materials necessary to present a Broadway Junior® musical production in their school.  The goals of the Project are to:

  • Assist schools that currently have no full time arts specialist to create an infusion of the arts and an arts culture within the school
  • Build a strong community through the arts that includes the school, parents and members of the community at large
  • Engage as many students as possible in all aspects and areas of the arts
  • Encourage the connection of arts programming to curriculum including assessment

Schools interested in being part of Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior Project must fill out an application to be one of three winning schools selected for 2016/2017.

The three winning schools will receive:

  • A license to perform a Broadway Junior musical of their choice
  • A ShowKit® of materials that supplies teachers with all the resources they will need to direct, choreograph and teach music like a true professional
  • Professional development workshops for the schools’ teachers

Music Man Dance Music
Does anyone have either:1 . A recording of all of the dance music in the Music Man that actually aligns with the score?or2. A list of what measures in the score align with the music on any of the recordings? I'm having a heck of a time finding the music in the score that matches with what's on various recordings. And the choreographer has choreographed based on certain recordings, so I would rather just find it in the score. Specifically, I mean the Shipoopi, 76 Trombones, Marian Dance, It's You Ballet, Eulalie's Ballet, and the Chase Music.ThanksEmily McDuffee

What songs are in Edges???
So, I'm in the process of getting rights to perform "Edges", but I have a quick question...What songs are in the MTI licensed version of "Edges"?I've seen so many different songs that have been associated with this particular show. Some songs that I really love that weren't on the MTI information page for the show. So, from those who have used this version, what songs are in it?Thanks for any help!

13 the musical for middle school
Here's my 2nd try at posting this!I'm thinking about putting on 13 with my middle school students this year. Ironically (unfortunately) I think the show may inappropriate (language, themes) to be put on at a public school. Anyone have any thoughts on this , or how to "clean" up the show? Also, I saw the show on Broadway, and realize there was a good deal of material cut from the version that is available for production. Is it possible to make the same cuts? It seems to make sense that if the creators made these cuts for a more successful show, that they intended to keep these cuts for successful future productions. I know shows are to be performed as written, but it seems these cuts would enhance the show. Any ideas?

High School Musical....in or out?
Hey everyone, Just tossing around some ideas for future shows and was wondering what the current feeling is toward High School Musical. I would be looking to do it with 7 & 8th graders, but wasn't sure if the fad is past it's prime. Will the kids get into it, or will they just roll their eyes? Thanks for any help!

A Part of us
Currently doing a production of OOTI jr. It seems to me that the emotional weight of the song A Part of Us has been substantially lessened by the cuts from the original score, and it makes the staging less able to show it as well (The passing of Timoune amongst the gods in the original is kind of glossed over) Any suggestions as to how effectively stage the song and maintain the emotional as the jr show is written? ( The original song brings a lump to my throught every time I hear it!)
