Paul: Cole's caretaker and nurse after he is crippled. Obedient and polite. Young and attractive.

Clifton: A humorously cynical friend of Cole's and an actor in Cole's first Broadway show. George Kaufman: The famous playwright. Grumpy and anxious. Sam Katz: A crass Hollywood movie producer at MGM. Noel Coward: Famous playwright of the time and as much of a lush as Cole. He is good friends with Cole. Sophisticated and classy.

Moss Hart: A young composer who becomes a lifelong friend of Cole Porter. Not shy, but certainly more reserved than the others.

Monty: Cole's old friend from college. Loves to be the star of the party. Goetz: A theatre producer from New York who enlists Cole to write music for a new show.

A young and attractive waiter, he appears throughout the entirety of the revue serving the many party guests.

Elsa: A plump, brassy, staunch force to be reckoned with. She is quick-witted. Huge supporter of Cole and his career. Ethel Merman: The infamous Broadway belter with a big personality and an even bigger voice. Feisty, sharp, and firm.

Sara: A cynical friend of Cole's in the early days in Paris. She dislikes Linda. Hedda Hopper: The nosey, blabber-mouthed Hollywood gossip columnist. Friendly and insincere. Bella: A charming, but tough as nails, producer who insists that Cole write the music to her new Broadway play.

Linda: A rich Southern belle and socialite who falls in love and marries Cole. She is strong and can hold her own. Naturally beautiful and sophisticated.

Bricktop: A delightful, young black actress and singer who Cole befriends. She is very talented and passionate about life.

A Hollywood starlet, ballet dancer, and partygoer.
