Inspiration

Frankly Ben is a rock musical for young audiences, with a book by Timothy Allen McDonald, the founder of iTheatrics (The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley), and music and lyrics by Anthony Afterwit. It is an educational stage depiction of the work of Benjamin Franklin. The musical starts with Franklin meeting with the Founding Fathers about the Declaration of Independence. But the majority of time is spent with a fifteen-year-old Ben, who is coached by his Alter Egos to create the philosophical club Junto in 1727 and come into his roles as inventor and innovator.

Productions

Frankly Ben first premiered in the fall of 2007. Since then, it has toured all around the United States in a variety of schools, theaterers and other venues.
