Ben Winters has written the book and/or lyrics for three musicals: Slut which ran Off Broadway in the autumn of 2005; Spread the Word, the story of Paul Revere, currently touring the United States; and Breaking Up is Hard to Do, a musical comedy based around the songs of Neil Sedaka. His plays include Circus Music which Winters wrote and directed productions in Chicago (1999) and Los Angeles (2001); Marry Me Jo! which appeared at Manhattan's Open Plus Arts Lab in 1999, and Maryland which was given a staged reading by the Barrow Group in 2003. Winters work as a journalist has appeared in numerous publications, including The Chicago Tribune, The Nation, In These Times, PerformInk, Stagebill, & Theatremania.com. His first book, The Jewish Comedy Thesaurus was published by Quirk Books in October 2007
